Play Blackjack the right way, and correct your gameplay
The main goal of blackjack is to collect cards that would amount to a total of 21 or less as long as you have more than the dealer or "beat the dealer" as it's called in the game. To play blackjack every gambler should know card values and main options to do during a game.
Card points:
- Ace = 1 or 11
- King = 10
- Queen = 10
- Jack = 10
- Other cards = to their value (7 = 7)
In order to win a bet you must receive a higher score than the dealer, if not done so you will lose the bet and, on the other hand if you beat the dealer the value of your bet is rewarded to you. The advantage of the house is when you are usually paid 3 to 2 (which means you are paid $3 for every $2). In the case of your first cards being an Ace and a card which has a value of ten (ten, Jack, King, Queen) you receive a Blackjack bonus. When you play Blackjack the possible ties that occur are never won by either the house or the player.
The rules state that the dealer has to draw cards to a total of 17 or more if reached. To make sure of the dealers possibilities when you play blackjack using various blackjack systems, read the rules of the house before playing.
Actions
- Double Down - Upon receiving the first two cards the player has a choice of doubling down (means doubling the bet) and only receiving one extra card.
- Splitting - When the first two cards received are of the same values (a 6 and a 6 or two Jack's) the gambler may choose to split the hand into two and place a bet of the same value on the second hand to play the game with two hands, in order to have an extra chance to beat the dealer.
- Insurance - Considered being a side bet which is usually possible when the dealer has a visible Ace. A player is allowed to bet а half of his/her first bet and get a payment of 2 to 1 when the dealer shows a blackjack as his second card.
- Surrender - Only allowed in some casinos, which give you the possibility to divide your bet in two if you decide not to continue to play the hand that you are dealt when it's your turn. In the case of a decision of a late surrender make sure to keep in mind that it's only allowed after the dealer checks for his blackjack.
